Fable Anniversary Character Spotlight: Maze

Many Will users accomplish what would be considered by ordinary folk as miraculous feats of magic. Few, however, unlock its full potential. Maze was one of the few. Yet despite his immense power, Maze was once just a frightened child. Cowering in the shadows, he hid from the rampaging Balvariners that moments earlier had slaughtered his parents. As he knelt, shivering and wondering what little mercy the beasts outside might show him, he could never have predicted what happened next. You’d be forgiven for assuming the child’s saviour on that day was a mighty Hero of the guild, and perhaps shocked when you learn that he was saved by one Jack of Blades. Why would a villain of such infamy save a cowering child, you ask? In the years that followed his harrowing ordeal and despite the terrible reputation of Jack of Blades, Maze felt indebted. He followed Jack, doing his bidding where required and all the while practicing the art of Will, growing in power as each day passed. Today, as a man, Maze stands as one of the most powerful Will users in all of Albion, perhaps only surpassed by his master, Jack, and William Black of the Old Kingdom. The debt he owes Jack of Blades may never be repaid, and it’s not without regret that he continues to serve his master in whatever task may be required…   Discuss this on our forums
