Bridle Signs Up For The London Marathon

Hi, I'm David (AKA Bridle) and I'm a Content Designer here at Lionhead Studios. I wanted to write a short blog for you all today to tell you a bit about what I'm up to outside of work - training! I've gone from a triathlon, to a half-marathon and now, to the big one... the full marathon. Next year I will be running the London Marathon with fellow Lionhead chum, Ben Brooks. I started running a full TWO months before the Olympics kicked off (and I defy anyone to prove otherwise) and I believe that the end result was that my trend-setting coolness was submerged by the might of global athletic competition. It’s fine though, I’ve made peace with this. So, to show that I wasn’t a bad sport, I decided to keep running anyway. Besides, I thought, I still had a two month head start on anyone new to the running game, so I felt it was worth keeping up. So why I am running at all? I want to tick a life box and run the London Marathon. It's as simple as that. At the same time, it would be utterly criminal to not want to take advantage of this opportunity, to raise money for a charity close to my heart. I’m part of the running team for JDRF who are a leading charitable funder of type 1 diabetes research that do some awesome work for youngsters with the condition. If you think running just over 26 miles is worth a few spare pounds, then you can head over to my Just Giving page here. It's a for a great cause and I very much appreciate any donation given, no matter how big or small. I’m setting a stretch goal to actually WIN the London Marathon, but I think I need to run it in about two hours to do that. I think that should be more than possible for someone like me though, right? Thanks for taking the time to read! #Bridle   Discuss this on our forums
