Re: titles for women, there are already tons of cookbooks, craft-books and stories about marriage and female misery in english. I buy manga for male characters created for the female gaze, transgression and sex - stories only Japan publishes for women. Vertical's choices "for women" have a regressive, paternalistic vibe to me; ladies should be crafting, cooking, and focusing on their relationships and appearance. How about some intense, fun, sexual manga for women? Like you publish for men.

I’m sorry but are you mistaking us for another publisher? This is Vertical.

None of our josei comics are about crafting or cooking. All the books in that category are about women power - power over their image, their bodies, their place in the workforce. And yeah they all have sexual romps.

Our josei books are
Helter Skelter - a sexy intense tale about the ugly side of the fashion industry
PINK - the glass ceiling and extremes people go through to earn money
Sakuran - women’s rights told from the Edo Period
In Clothes Called Fat - Eating disorders
Utsubora - a murder mystery and women in the literary world

I don’t see cooking or crafting there. Any one else confused?
