Finally decided to get the forums back online ^^
I completely started fresh using the latest phpbb release. Of course that means my wonderful template is gone but ah well *shrug*. I'll tinker with the design another time.
Everyone (sadly) who had registered previously in the past, must register again. I didn't bother importing the old user tables in because there were too many changes in the new phpbb.
