No.
In the case of Amazon, they pay us in advance based off the cover price. If they wish to discount books on their own behalf, which is usually the case at Amazon, then they end up getting shortchanged.
Remember, we do not get paid form “sales to customers.” We get paid from “preorders from vendors.”
